Suite Question regarding upgrade - Doing a little dipsy do...
 

Hello,

I am currently running vBulletin 3.8.3, and would like to upgrade to the newest vbulletin 4.0 publishing suite (already purchased). I'm trying to determine the best and most seamless way to do this for my users. This is what I came up with, and am wondering if there are any hitches that anyone knows of in which this would be problematic.

1. Install a fresh version of vBulletin 4.0 publishing suite in a new directory with a new database.

2. Set it up how I want it... Test it... Put it through the paces.

3. Once I'm ready, use the upgrade script to bring my legacy forum up to the version I have set up and get the database where I need it to be.

4. Rename the directory of the fresh install to the directory of the old install, update the config.php to the legacy database and don't look back.

Will this work? Or am I cruisin for a bruisin?
