Forum DB customisation and vb updates
 

When customising or integrating vb 4, is it safe to add fields to existing vb 4 database tables, or could they get lost during an update/upgrade?

At the moment I'm using my own separate tables for storing user geo information for example, as they were created before I installed vb4.
