Forum private message has no link , cannot open it

for some users, still unclear what are the conditions (some report a certian OS/browser in which other users has no problem) , when you get a private message which is a reply (i.e RE:XXXXX) you see the message in the inbox but the subject of the message is not a link, you cannot enter the message. the only way to read the message is to select it , and then download it as a file.
is this a known bug ? is there a workaround?
