Access masks have no priority above forum/categorie permissions? I don't know if this is a bug but it's strange. I make a categorie called "private" and set the forum permissions in private in such way that only Administrators and Super moderators have access. Now I make some forums under that category, for example: Categorie = Private Private -> Moderators Private -> Admins Private -> Club members. Now the problem is as followed. Suppose one of the Club members is George. I use access masks to give George access to the Club members section. Problem: George can't see this section due to the categorie settings. Solution, I set the access mask for George so he can visit the Private categorie. Problem: George can see and visit now all subforums in there (also the Admins section!) As far as I remember, in old vB versions, when you give access mask access to 1 certain forum, it made no difference how the category was set up, the user had access. Now how can I solve this problem? 1.) I want the user to only have access to the Club Member forum 2.) I don't want any other users of his usergroup to be able to see the Private category. 3.) I do want George to see only the category name, and then only the subforum Club members in there, without the others. How can I fix this. This should be possible to do with access masks so please don't suggest using another usergroup. Anybody? |
