Forum Search issues: no choice between MySQL and vB search
 

Hi, I am running vBulletin 4.0.3 PL1 and the search function is driving the members nuts - in despair, they've resorted to using Google to search the site...

I tried switching between the MySQL full text search (currently set by the hosting at 4 characters minimum) and vBulletin's built-in index, but in AdminCP > Settings > Search Type, there is only one option: DB Search. This seems to rely on the MySQL indexing.

What do I need to do to switch to vBulletin's built-in indexing and search, and to rebuild the indexes, please? Alternatively, how complicated would it be for a web host to change the minimum word length for full text indexing?
