Suite Upgrade errors

Upon upgrading my site from 3.8.5 to vBulletin 4.0.4, I have the following error;

Fatal error: Cannot access protected property vB_Bootstrap_Framework::$initialized in /home/vhosts/lifeinitaly.com/subdomains/my/httpdocs/includes/class_bootstrap_framework.php on line 57

This occurs when the usercp.php, search.php, showthread.php and certain admincp pages are accessed, this error is thrown. I have disabled the plugins from config.php and the only way I got the error to show was adding the " ini_set("display_errors", true); " to the top of the config.php file.

Any assistance would be appreciated, I've done a search and not come up with anything.
