e107 import of forum fails
 

I run all steps without any problems. At my first try importing the forums i tried with the default values of 50 forums. The result was that the page tried to reload for 30 minutes without any sign of progress and no changes to the tables according to phpmyadmin.

I tried reseting and deleting all imported info and change the value to 100 since i read on the forum that this was successful for an other user. Instead i got this message;

There seems to have been a problem with the database.

Not sure what this means? I notice that all swedish utf-8 characters looks strange. for example "NORR?–NERS" should be written "NORR?NERS".
My vB db is utf-8. I notice that my old database collationing is in utf-8 but some are in latin1_swedish_ci.
