Forum Server Advice Hey all, seeking some general advice. I am getting ready to setup a new Linux Box to host my website, now it comes with two 160GB Hard Drives that I was considering running as software RAID 1, but I also read that I may want to put the SQL Datastores and Home Directories on separate drives for faster response. Now I am not overly worried about data reliability (i.e. the RAID) since I am pretty good on backups. Now I also heard that while RAID 1 may write slower to the disk the reads are actually faster? So RAID 1 or keep the Home directory a and SQL on different hard drives? |
