vB4 Fluid - Full width block above header banner
 

<div>My site has a fixed width of 1024px

I want to add a full width (fluid) gradient background/block above the header.

I inserted the following code at the start of the header template. (above this code - )

topheader


and added the following to the additional css

#topheader {
width: 100%;
background-image: url(images/misc/greentab.png);
repeat: repeat-x;
background-color: #a7c838;
height: 25px;
}

Now obviously this does not work exactly how I want it. Instead of being the full width of the screen, it only extends the width of the actual site (1024px)

I have also tried an inline style, unfortunately with the same results as above.

Any help would greatly appreciated.
