Need server advice on Q9550
 

It's time to upgrade and I am looking at a host with a Q9550 with 8GB RAM. Right now, I have

AMD XP 2400
Processor: Single
CPU Speed: 2.4 GHz
Operating System: CentOS 5.x
Hard Drive: 80 GB
RAM: 1 GB
Bandwidth: 1500 GB

My problem now is database errors when I get a lot of traffic. I can have anywhere from 500-2500 on. I wanted to know if anyone used a Q9550 and if they might recommend it. Thanks.
