3.8.0 License
 

I've taken over a forum where there is debate as to whether the vBulletin license is owned by the previous web admin or by the owners of the web site. Rather than get into a long legal battle with the previous web admin, we'd rather just buy our own license so that we know exactly where we stand.

The forum is currently running on 3.8.0. If we buy a new 4.0 Forum Classic license, will it still cover us for our 3.8.0 forum? In particular, I'm hoping that this will allow us to download the 3.8.0 binary file so that I can get access to tools.php and set myself up as admin and tighten down the security away from the previous web admin.

Note, that my plan is to upgrade to 4.0 this summer. However, I'd rather stabilise what I've inherited before going through that.
