Best way to use Authorize.net for subscriptions?

Can someone point me to a guide or give me advice on the best way to set up VBulletin and Authorize.net for subscriptions? I seen one site us Amember, do I need something like that?

I'm currently with a merchant accnt and payment gateway overseas, and have a custom script, but don't want to use it anymore.
