Among the leading names in Alternative Energy News are The Linde Group, one of the top energy research agencies in Germany and Algenol Biofuels as they are conducting researches on CO2 and O2 management projects that can help in producing biofuels from algae. According to the company spokesperson researches are going on to find out a solution for optimum management of CO2 and O2, with the help of ‘Algenol’s algae and photobioreactor technology’. The company plans to develop lucrative technologies that can help in the capture, storage and supply of CO2. This CO2 is used for Algenol's process to manufacture third-generation biofuels; where CO2, salt water and algae are used in the needed quantities. According to Aldo Belloni, a Linde executive board member, the production of fuels or chemicals from algae is one of the most promising methods to decrease greenhouse gas emissions. A cost-effective supply of CO2 is one of the most important factors in this biofuel process. Algenol uses direct-to-ethanol technology powered by sun and makes low-cost ethanol with the help of CO2 and seawater, using hybrid algae, in preserved and clear plastic photobioreactors.

Linde has enough experience in cost-effective supply of CO2 for CO2 recycling plants that are highly eco-friendly. The products that are received are used by ‘crystalline & thin-film solar photovoltaic module’ makers around the world. The solar division of the company was awarded a long-term agreement to supply its ‘specialty gases’ to the newly planned solar manufacturing unit of Bosch Solar, near Erfurt in Germany.
