| محروم.كوم | 03-25-2010 09:40 PM | Moderator usergroup vs. Administrator user group I've come to notice that the moderators on our boards spend a lot of time on things they probably shouldn't because it's not efficient. Our mods have "admin" permissions but I'm thinking of changing them to "moderator" permissions.
What are the most important functions a moderator should have? Below is what I know of, am I missing any? Also, will all these functions be available to them if I give them "Moderator" permissions as opposed to "Administrator" permissions"? These are the "Moderator" functions I know of that are necessary. Will losing "Administraotor" permissions make them incapable of performing these functions?: - Banning users
- Soft-deleting threads and forums
- Moving individual posts and threads
- Moving mass posts and threads
- Giving infractions
- Applying access masks to users
- Sending/receiving PMs
- Making Stickies and Announcments
- Closing Forums
