Forum The ongoing problem of search in 4.x
 

Running 4.02 on a VPS with plenty of resources...

I see numerous threads about pathetic search results with 4.x. The general advice is "rebuild index", which I've now done three times, despite the fact that it takes several hours each time to complete.

One of my members indicates he is a member of another forum using 4.02 where search seems to be working better than it is at my forum.

Are there other things that I can do to improve search, besides waiting for a vBulletin fix?
