Forum I edited the 'my.cmf' file, and Im wondering what effects this will have I found a helpful suggestion through a search to help fix a mysql database error I was running into while editing/setting up my vbulletin page, which said a way around the error was to go into the my.cmf file and added the following [mysqld] set-variable=max_allowed_packet=64M the 64 part I just arbitrarily added, figuring that was a big enough figure. it fixed my problem, I was able to continue onwards without running into errors, and everythings been great. . . . my question is; what did I do? & what are the good or bad things that can happen to my website with this change in the my.cmf from what was originally written? |
