Forum ImPex Import: SMF 1.1.1 -> vB 4.0.2 (Connection to source server failed.)
 

Hello,

I'm trying to import my SMF 1.1.1 database into vB 4.0.2 using the ImPex import application. I've set up the source and target information within the config file, appropriately and am trying to accomplish this task within vB administration. All logins/passwords/database-names/prefixes are correct and double-checked.

The MySQL file from the original SMF database is about 50MB and I'm trying to do the import from one server to the next - they're hosted on different servers. I assume this shouldn't be a problem?

I continue to receive the same error, even though the information within the config is absolutely correct. That error is: "Connection to source server failed. Check username and password."

I can't figure this out and would greatly appreciate any help you can send my way.
