New Posts Glitch

When I quit the browser I'm using (This happens to every browser that I have) after seeing all the newly posted posts, somehow for some reason when I return the topics have the new post icon even though I've already seen the topic 5 times before and in actual fact, hasn't got a new post. Does anyone else have this problem?

Any ideas?
