Forum Moving server and upgrade at same time
 

Currently I am running 3.8.2 and wish to upgrade to the latest version. I also need to move the forum to a new server.
My database is close to 1gig and I have numerous modifications, plugins and addons. I was thinking of installing the newest version on the new server and just bring the database (cleaned of all misc fields) from the old server.

Am I completely wrong in thinking I can do it this way? I understand that I will need to move all of the attachments, avatars, profile pics etc.
