Considering buying - A few questions
 

Ah so I've been setting up a forum, however I've had a few reservations with the software I'm on and am looking to vbulletin now. However, I'd like a few questions answered before I go ahead and buy, having fiddled round with the demo.

1. Is it possible to buy a 3.8 license at all? - I know this is an odd question but my forum won't need the most up to date amazing mods and I prefer the look of the 3.8 series as compared to the 4. If I can, then the following questions will be aimed at the 3.8 software.

2. Now on to custom user fields - probably my main concern.

• Firstly, Is it possible to create custom pages on the UserCP? and select for certain user fields to show in that custom page?
• Secondly, when displaying custom user fields in the member profile. Can I edit the way they're laid out? As in using the field IDs to change the layout? Or are they just put in to a stream of text?

3. Forum permissions. What I like about my current forum software is you can have your main usergroups [Admin, Moderator, Member. etc]. But also additional (secondary) member groups with forum permissions as well. So I could restrict a 'Member' from posting in a sub-forum, and have him apply for these permissions (I could then put him into this additional membergroup with permissions for the sub-forum) and he would be able to post - instead of making dozens and dozens of groups.
