Forum Merging two backups of the same forum
 

Here's my situation.

I was met with a situation that required me to cut the size of my MySQL DB by a lot. I backed up my DB and slashed away posts and made other changes to get the DB down.

Two months have passed, and I've found a new webhost that will allow me to run my DB without the restrictions I was having before. I've taken the backup and restored it at the other host.

The question: how do I get the new content that has been posted since I did the backup moved over to the new webhost? If I backed up the current DB and restored it over on the new webhost, would that overwrite the current database or cause duplicate users/posts?

I plan on trying it anyway, but does anyone have experience with this? What was the best way to do it?
