Does the Wordpress API key in the blogs work?

I had a member test it out on my 3.8.x and 4.0.x boards and both time gave him "The Wordpress API key you provided is invalid, please verify this in your Wordpress profile and retry."

He said "The WP key should really be working. I've used it on a lot of wordpress plugins"

Can anyone confirm it is working on there site? or is it a bug in vbulletin?
