Forum question about running a testvb installation
 

I read the FAQ and it says in order to use a test copy of vBulletin, it has to be installed to a /testvb/ directory and the directory itself must be password protected.

What I plan to do is set that up then import a post table from 3.8 (it will be a 3.8 install) so that we can recover posts that were lost when upgrading to vb4 (database crashed, corrupt backup file, long story). Only a couple of people other than myself would have the directory password and it won't be online for more than a couple of days. Will this be fine?
