Questions about switching from Invision My users are still tremendously unhappy with the state of Invision's forum software nearly a year after the big 3.0 release came out. I've tried to be patient with Invision and wait for the bugs and kinks to get worked out, but I get a lot of hostility when I bring up problems over there. Worse, I've recently discovered a significant security problem that I can't seem to get resolved. So I'm thinking of moving my forum over to vBulletin. First, though, I have some questions. - Is there an upgrade path from Invision 3.0.5 to the current version of vBulletin? - When moving from Invision to vBulletin, are any data or features sacrificed? Things that the users or I will have to re-create in vBulletin? (file attachments, profile data, etc...) - Are users who signed up with their Facebook accounts still active after a switch to vBulletin? - Is there professional tech support at vBulletin who can do the installation and migration for me? - If so, is that included in standard technical support, or is there an additional fee? |
