Suite Best Approach ~~ FRESH inst vB4.0.1 CMS using forum data from vB3.8.4, no MODS?
 

Our forum has been running now for many many years. Over these past years, many volunteers have had their hands in the site testing, making changes, etc.... The folder structure is horrendous to say the least. I volunteered to clean it up and in the process, want to upgrade it to the CMS.

I'd like to retain all the FORUM related data, however would prefer to do a completely fresh install of vB4.0 CMS. What is my best approach to do so? I have read countless threads on using the existing site structure, upgrading and then go, however i want to avoid if at all possibly upgrading the site directory.

Suggestions or links to read that explains best practices for this?
