Exporting vbulletin forums
 

I have some forums on my current vbforum that I would like to export to an open source platform for a new project. I am deciding between bbpress and phpbb....I read that only phpbb accommodates an export from VB.

I realize phpbb should have some documentation but wondering if someone may have some information before I proceed. Is this something that could mess up my vbforum during the process? I'm not even sure if I can export specific forums or not, or if the export copies the forums or actually moves them. Just wondering what part Vbulletin plays in such a maneuver.
