Pros & Cons of Adding a Forum to my Site
 

Some of my site visitors have requested that I add a forum to my website for Pre-K teachers. Its not something I would ever have planned to do, but since they requested it, I have been thinking about it. I need to know the pros & cons.

Questions:
*Will a forum affect the security of my site?
*What about spambots-- is that eliminated by sign-in?
*Is it difficult to install?
*Will I have to do daily backups?
*Should I add a forum to my original site/domain or add it to a new domain?
*My site is maintained ONLY by little ole me, a preschool teacher w/ a full time job, & I can't devote my whole life to this-- is it really feasible?
