Offline Backup not working (entirely)
 

Hello,

I followed the instructions to make an offline backup of my forums. I've done the following....

- Used SSH to back up the original forum data
- Restored the data to my local mySQL server
- Copied the forum directories (and store folder) locally
- Edited my config to reflect new location

Now, almost everything works... I can view my forums offline and can login to the main forum, but can't seem to login to the admin panel. I get the login screen, enter my details and it says 'thanks for logging in'. Then just puts me back to the login screen.

Any ideas why this would be?

Also, is it a good idea to perform my upgrade from 3.8x to 4.01 offline, then upload the content to my live webserver. I wanted to style the whole thing and make sure it's working offline before I put it online for people to use. Has anyone else done this successfully?

p.s. I should also say, I cleared cookies in my browser in case there was any issues with that. AND tried it under IE and Firefox
