CMS Edit Section Should Not List All Articles I have several issues with editing sections. I've upped the memory limit many times to bypass the memory limit errors but as my article count grows, so does the list of articles shown when editing a section and causes my FF browser to crash. Here's the deal: I have all articles listed in many sections and sub-sections. I do not use categories as I do not like the way categories are used in the category widget. I prefer the section widget as it makes it easier to navigate in hierarchy. When I edit a section like the main homepage section, it will list all the articles. Because I have around 5,000 articles, it requires more php memory to attempt to load the page without memory limit errors. After upping the memory limit it tries to load the edit section page but then crashes my FF browser because it is trying to list all articles I assume. That is way too many articles to try to load and it will get worse as I add more articles. Can't we have a simpler way of listing articles on the edit section page? Like a way to choose which section to view articles from? Instead of listing them all!!!? As it stands, I have the main homepage set to manually select articles to be listed. I cannot manually choose articles because the edit section page crashes my browser (makes it unusable) when trying to load it. I can only imagine this getting worse as admins add many more articles as time goes by. Right now, I cannot edit my main page because of this. Please rethink how this should be handled. |
