Non-Preset Amounts using Paid Subscriptions?

Is the above true?

I currently have preset amounts set. Ones for 1x payments and ones for recurring.

I'm not seeing abundantly clear that it is possible for this built in module to provide for a User to enter a "desired" amount.

Am I correct? If not, then could someone explain to me how I can provide an entry that is for non-preset amounts and is 1x time payment?
