Forum Banner Question
 

Okay, my designer friend is going to be designing me a banner of some sort for my forum. Can somebody please explain the logistics..?

Say I keep the layout as the length of the screen (i.e. the same length as this forum), what sized banner would I need?

If I decided to make the forum 'fixed', then what sized banner then?

Any help would be gratefully received.
