Does vBulletin escape user entered data?
 

Mod security is causing 500 errors when users have certain text in their posts. I have seen recommendations on here to just disable mod security but I haven't seen any information on if vBulletin escapes or cleans user input (posts, pm's etc) and I want to make sure that is happening before I start knocking down modsec.
