Number Viewing vs. Display Logged-In User
 

I run a large forum (4k - 8k simultaneous users). I want to reduce server load by disabling the "Display Logged In User?" setting under Forum Home Page Options. When I do this* I lose the "# viewing" next to each forum. Is there any way to get rid of the logged-in user list but keep the # viewing?

How much impact will getting rid of the user list have on server performance anyway?
