CMS how to NOT show posts on front page of CMS??
 

I have spent 5 hours today* trying everything possible between creating sections* catagories* manipulating options to try to NOT show certain article content on the front page of the CMS.

How can I choose NOT show selected content on front page? I would think this to be a pretty standard issue but for the life of me* I cannot find the right combination of options.
