رسالة مشتركة الى : ملك البحرين حول اوضاع حقوق الإنسان 21 ديسمبر خطاب إلى ملك البحرين حول أوضاع حقوق الإنسان في البحرين نرجو نشره في المنتديات . www.byshr.org His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa King of the Kingdom of Bahrain The Royal Court 21 December 2009 Your Majesty* We express our concern regarding the reports about alleges of torture and arbitrary arrests against a group of citizen who participated in the peaceful protests during December 2009. Information indicates that the political groups in Bahrain are celebrating in this month the memory of the torture victims in the period between 1975 and 1999* and which is the period where the security authorities practiced torture* arbitrary arrests and extrajudicial killings of the activists and participants in the peaceful protests. Your Majesty* The Bahrain Youth Society for Human Rights documented reports on the maltreatment of the defendants in the (Ma'ameer) case* the BYSHR indicated that the security apparatuses used torture as a means to extract confessions from the defendants* and photos revealed the torture marks. Your Majesty* Mr. Mohammed Maskati – president of the Bahrain Youth Society for Human Rights – is still under the threat of imprisonment and fine. His case for ruling was postponed until 25 January 2010. Mr. Maskati contributed in spreading the principles of human rights in Bahrain and in the Arab region. Practicing his work is considered part of the values of the Declaration on Human Rights Defenders* issued in 1998. Your Majesty* We* the undersigned* request your Majesty to the following: 1.The immediate and urgent release of the detainees who participated in the peaceful protests* and to terminate the Ma'ameer case. 2.The immediate and independent investigation in alleges of torture and arbitrary arrests* and to involve the local non-governmental organizations in the investigations. 3.Interrogate the security men (Riot Forces – National Security) that are accused of using violence and torture against the masses and detainees. 4.To dismiss the case of Mr. Mohammed Al-Maskati* and to allow him to practice his work in absolute freedom without any legal or security restrictions. Yours sincerely* The Undersigned:
