Better Way to Update Similar Threads on Large Forums? I just moved a site to a new server and was wanting to rebuild similar threads* as we had this feature disabled for a long time due to resource issues. At first* the rebuild function was hitting a memory error by the time it was processing thread #8. I boosted the memory limit to 128M (we have 12GB total with only about 15% in use* so I can go higher) and it then made it to 474 before dying yet again. Even when it was running* it was taking forever to get through these cycles. We have over 150*000 threads and at the rate it was going* it wouldn't have finished for about 90 hours. Is there an easier* and preferably faster* way to do this that I don't know about? Or at least a way to resume from the thread it died on so the whole thing doesn't have to be restarted? I can't even imagine what it's like on a forum with one million or more threads. Will cranking the memory limit up really high help it move any faster? Thanks for any suggestions! |
