VB4 Suite Installation

I currently have my VB forum in a separate directory named forum. I have purchased the VB 4 suite and would like to keep the CMS in the root and the forum in a different directory* once again named forum. Is this possible?

If not how will that effect the pages I have indexed in the Search Engines?
