$forumpath error during site migration
 

I've been doing a site migration this evening and am having a a bit of an issue. At the moment* I'm seeing the message:

Invalid forum path specified! Please edit this file and be sure to include the correct path for your $forumpath variable.

As I understand it* I should just need to amend my 'forum/includes/config.php' file with the appropriate path and that should clear it* but unfortunately not. What makes less sense is that a clean install I did as a test didn't require that variable setting on the same server. This problem only arises using the file structure migrated across from the old webspace.

The forum path I've used is

'/home/thebeat1/public_html/forum' where 'home/thebeat1' is the root directory of the space I'm on.

I can also see the same folder structure under '/home/thebeat1/www/folder' and tried using that as my forum path too* but with no different result.

Can anyone suggest what might be causing this* or alternatively what I might have done wrong (strong possibility).
