How to display a sub-forum only to users with 500+ posts
 

Hello all*

I need to keep my forum (http://forum.beer.gr) open to un-registered users and search engines alike* so everything is visible to everyone. However* I need to create a private forum for active members that exceed a pre-set number of posts* say* 500.

Showing or hiding private forums seems to be connected to usergroups but I wouldn't want to manually monitor and add members to a secondary usergroup that has access rights to the private forum; instead* I'd like the sub-forum to simply display when the user posts their 500th message.

Alternatively* I'd like to show the private sub-forum to users bearing a specific rank that they got by reaching the 500-post mark.

I'm sure the answer is right there somewhere under my nose...
