Disabling tags once they have been enabled
 

I have tags enabled on my board but I am thinking of disabling the feature because it is causing issues with censorship and members are using them to attack each other anonymously. If i disable tags from the contol panel* what happens to the existing tags in the database? Are they deleted or do they remain there if I re-enable tagging at some later time?
