Greyscale transparency in Photoshop?
 

Hi everyone*

I know how to make a single color* such as white* transparent in Photoshop* but I was hoping to more have it so that pure white is fully transparent* slightly less white is slightly less transparent* etc. -- the darker the color* the less transparent it is. I was wondering if anyone knows how to do this?
