Unread posts feature help
 

I've found the unread posts feature to be a bit... annoying at times because of a few reasons:
1. Whenever I read an "unread" post* I have to go back to the forum in which the thread is in and then back out into the forum index in order to get the "new posts in forum" icon to go away.
2. Whenever I post a new reply or thread in a forum* I have to do the same thing as above to get rid of that icon.

Are there any settings I could change to keep this from happening?
