MySQL - MySQLi
 

Hello folks* just a quick question if you don't mind.

I've recently started up a new forum & only made the basic changes to the config.php file upon installation.

About two weeks have passed now & I've been doing more reading of the VB manual & noticed that you can change the database type in the config.php from 'mysql' to 'mysqli'

Is this worth doing? Is it as simple as just changing 'mysql' to 'mysqli' in the config.php file? And can this be done without disruption to my forum?
