Question about the 'forum' folder. Hello folks* I've got a question to ask about the 'forum' folder in cPanel. I've just recently purchased some webspace & a VB license & last night installed my forum. I did all the things the VB manual says here Link So I go to the 'public html' bit & upload the 'upload' folder to there* when it's done I rename it 'forum' etc... Anyway when it's all done & I want to access my forum I can't do properly as my forum is installed to www.mysite.com/forum whereas I want it to be on just www.mysite.com. The only way I could think of to do this was to move all the contents out of the 'forum' folder & put it directly onto the 'public html' (Screenshot of cPanel set-up) Now that means as I have my forum directly on www.mysite.com but is this going to cause me problems? I've just this morning tried to install a shoutbox which gave me nightmare errors & my admincp vanished so I had to completely reinstall the forum. Is me having everything directly on the 'public html' page instead of in a 'forum' folder causing this? How do you folks recommend I set it up* or can anyone give me advice on how I can still have it in the forum folder (So it's still at www.mysite.com/forum) but if someone goes to www.mysite.com it'll automatically take them there? I hope that makes sense to you fine folk as I get the feeling I haven't explained it very well. Many thanks for any help/advice. |
