Paid Subscriptions Issue
 

We have been running our vBulletin Forum for a few years and recently decided to use the paid subscriptions feature to handle our membership dues. Setup seemed very simple* but encountered an issue when running a test subscription.

I set up the paid subscription with Usergroup Options > Primary Usergroup: MEMBER

The user for the test is part of usergroup: REGISTERED USER

PayPal processed the transaction and the membership fee appeared in our PayPal account. However* there was no change in the user's status. I assumed it would switch automatically from Registered User to Member.

When I look at the Transaction Log* it shows the transaction type as FAILURE. When I click on Failure for details* I see this:

vb_error_code unhandled_payment_status_or_type

I can manually upgrade the account to Member* but I was hoping the process would be automated and am concerned that if I do it manually it won't revert at the end of the subscription of the user fails to renew.

Please advise.
