Search BOT Permission
 

As we know vBulletin treats all search spiders as just guests. This is OK if one has a forum for downloads because he will make attachments private and then indexing is done with no problem* if user wants to get what he wants that is the attachment he has to register.

But for a forum of the informative kind what can be the initiative for registering? The guests can see whatever registered users (if any) can see.

For this reason and maybe for a lot more I recommend treating BOTs as users in a particular group for example called BOTs. This way their pewrmissions can be set to whether accesss particular forums or not.

I know some will say this is cloaking and Google will ban you and ...* but this is exactly what phpBB does. As I and many others have worked with phpBB* the forums have been indexed very well and there were no instances of any problems.

I'd like to ask you developers to implement such an option in vB 4.
