CMS Shared folders for the asset manager
 

Inspired by Optima's post :)

The currect asset manager can't share assets between users* so I don't understand how we should use images in CMS articles. Should we upload 10 times the same Microsoft logo if there are 10 staff members posting articles?

Just a small idea to fix this for the moment: Create a "shared folders" part* controlled by the AdminCP. This shouldn't be too difficult if users can already create their own folders.
How could this look like? You just pick a user in the AdminCP* pick one of its asset folders and set it as a shared one. Then you can select other users or usergroups to have access to it. If you want to make it more advanced* you could specify view-upload-delete permissions. A bit like forum moderators and moderator usergroups.

That would fix most needs. In the future a full media gallery* like Optima wrote* would be great for the CMS. Of course that's too big to get into 4.0.

Sophie said she's still working on the usability of the asset manager* so I hope this will be improved before going gold.
