New install on local machine
 

I've downloaded phpws 1.6.3* and want to set it up locally on my PC* but I can't find the steps to do that anywhere. Am I missing the obvious* and there's a txt file in the download that I haven't found or something?

I have WAMP installed on my PC already* with php 5.2.4 and MySQL 5.0.45. Somewhere I saw a post that suggested installing XAMPP instead WAMP - is that necessary?

What is required as far as a setting up a database beforehand?

Are there folders that need to have permissions changed during installation?

Is there ANY kind of step-by-step for doing a fresh installation?
