This would be a beneficial feature in so many ways. Not just for the forums* but also the cms as well. Especially if we are copying forum threads into the cms. We could change the username to reflect the original poster.

I'm like others..I already have the hack from vb.org to do this. I use it for articles I have in the forums.

This would be a good default feature in 4.x.
