Is it okay to upgrade/overwrite one license files with different license files?

I have vBulletin 3.8.4 owned license. ( Google Adsense integration is enabled ) Recently I brought vBulletin 4 Suite but as suite is not available for download it redirected me to download 3.8.4. I downloaded and installed it on my server. After installing I noticed that there isn't Adsense advertising option. So I re-downloaded old version ( version which was available before purchasing vB4 suite license ) and overwritten the all files.

So now my questions are:
1) Is it okay to overwrite one license files with different license files?
2) Can I upgrade to vB4 ( which is new license ) ?
